Very whimsical and a cute story. May be able to pick it up at another time. Just not right now .

As a middle grade, it's an entertaining enough book, but still should have been shorter. As a book for general audience it still has merit, but should have been a short story instead.

Lovely book but somehow more childish than others from this author and way more repetitive. Also did not connect to the characters who felt underdeveloped or uninteresting. Overall still a nice adventure just missing the spark.

A sweet story about love, family, trust, and growing up. A 12-year-old girl in an Italian-esque town lives with her family, who make magical paintings to help their fellow townsfolk. Then one day, bored out of herind, she finds a box with a charm on it that makes her walk away. She just has to find out what's in the box... And boy does she. And in the process, she learns that you can trust the adults around you, and about friendship, and that jealousy and apologies and forgiveness and love are all part of growing up. Sweet, and not to be missed.
