Honestly, I didn't love this. The adjective that comes to mind is "lackluster." I didn't like the first person point of view for this story, I didn't like the idea of Charlotte checking out some other man, and that relationship itself was not exactly engaging. I like the idea of telling Charlotte's story after her marriage, but this didn't do much for me.

Sweetly simple with a lot of internalised angst because who wouldn't regret marrying Mr. Collins, even at the chance of a stable home?

Wow that was... beautiful and sad and perfect. My heart is aching for them both honestly. That's the kind of love I've always wanted, the one that comes and stays so quietly and happens to change everything. If only circumstances or the times were different, the could have beens...

A quiet novel about a quiet character. The author does a really great job at capturing each Austen characters' essence and continuing their story in a believable way. Wonderful read for anyone who loves Pride and Prejudice.

It has been a long time since I read a book as fast as this.
I am always vary now of sequels to Jane Austen novels as there are SO MANY bad ones.
This book was good, fit with the period, didn't try to throw every character together in an odd way, no smut. It probably could have been a bit longer so we could witness some of the changes that would have occurred another 6 months into the future. But I was pleasantly surprised. I only had one criticism at the end but it's not even worth noting.
As I grew older I identified more and more with Charlotte, I wanted to read a decent book revolving around her life.

Very bittersweet. Wonderfully written and touching and lovely all at once.

"The Clergyman's Wife" is a truly romantic tribute to Jane Austen's beloved work, where Charlotte must make a difficult choice between her heart and her head. Full review here: https://robyntocker.weebly.com/the-clergymans-wife.html
