Maybe in the wrong category rn.
Religious commentary as someone who practices no religion /:
Overall plot too boring for me (,:
inspiring lighthearted fast-paced

This novel helped me when I was lost and didn't know where to go.It gave me the guts and the power to keep going.I learned how to appreciate my life and appreciating the nature and the universe from it .It really bring inner peace.

edit: i cannot stop thinking about this books it's five stars

herman hesse's writing style reminds me of 'things fall apart' in a good way. i don't know how to feel about a white guy writing about buddhism and indian religious traditions but aside from that it was really great read.

this books follows one man's journey to become enlightened, and the teachings through which siddartha follows.

it's kind of fun to see how ideals are interconnected within nature, and the minute material possessions are used within his daily life siddartha transforms into this money and object-hungry man.

the way in which each section is divided through the different areas of life siddartha explores is really digestible and not one chapter was less interesting than the other.

overall this book was really satisfying to read and finish.
