A very uplifting and light read. More of a treatise on life and philosophy disguised as a novel than a true novel, but a great story nonetheless.

The type of book you can take away 100 things from and still have room for more. The prose is rich despite being a translation, and the themes and lessons are timeless. A classic for a reason, everyone should experience it.

Eked its way to a 4/5 in the last few chapters. The writing style, or translation, is a little annoying: it feels at times like it's trying to evoke the article-heavy, repetitious form of old texts (or, once again, the translations of them). Once you get past that to the meat of the matter it's a good story with plenty of good ideas.
