I had some complaints with the pacing and writing style, but overall a sweet crowd-pleaser (my book club vouches for it).
Patrick is the guncle (gay uncle) and sometimes-caretaker to two tweens whose mother has recently passed away. In this second book, they are facing having a stepmother. Patrick helps parent them, guide them through grief and other ups and downs, with silliness and a certain fabulousness.
