Just didn’t care. Read like a text book. Lacked depth. Felt almost…mean. Not a page turner. I was slugging through and realized it wasn’t worth my time.

Toobin is an accomplished lawyer and a meticulous researcher. He is not an engaging author. This read like the world's longest Wikipedia entry. It's an interesting story about a fascinating woman, but I wonder how it could have been told in someone else's hands.
3.5 stars. Not much that was terribly surprising and very little historical context for the actions/philosophy of the SLA. But very readable and appropriately skeptical of just about everyone involved in the Hearst kidnapping/trials.
