Very cute story. There were more substantial sideplots than in previous books, more đŸŒ¶ (with the exception of book 6), and all the fun Bridgerton-Danbury antics. Hyacinth instantly become one of ny fav Bridgerton heroines. A few iffy decisions by the male lead but he was redeemed. Overall, definitely recommend.

I love the sense of adventure in this book. For once, I enjoyed both main characters in a Bridgeton book. Well worth the wait. I connect to Hyacinth's desire to solve the case and her struggle to find the right person. Gareth struggled with emotions around his father even long after his childhood. Lady Danbury is always a plus. As with any Bridgeton book, there's parent trama, the reformed rake and virgin, and other overused tropes which are getting super old. I also miss Lady Whistledown, which made this series so unique. The second epilogue wasn't satisfying to me. The first was fine,
but the kid's actions didn't feel real. I would try to figure out how they got there and probably showed off to someone as a kid. Not let someone else take the glory or just put it back.

Men oerhört underhĂ„llande lĂ€sning.

Oh, Hyacinth. Somehow, Julia Quinn made me like and understand a character who I'd only found obnoxious, rude, and far too nosy anytime she appeared or was mentioned in previous books in the series.

I particularly enjoyed the interactions with Lady Danbury, the insightful conversations with mama Bridgerton (and the ensuing introspection by Hyacinth), and, at least initially, the mystery of the diary. That said, I didn't get Hyacinth's reckless and enduring obsession with the diamonds. Overall, fun but not my favorite.

This is the second last sibling and I still enjoy it, even if things get slightly repetitive. It’s  Julia Quinn’s accomplishment that the characters differ from each other. Hyacinth comes to life quite quickly and her character is interesting and nuanced.

That is the main reason I love the books. For this part of the series, I do appreciate a twisted parental relationship and family secrets.
