يمكن اعتبار هذا الكتاب بمثابة احتفاء بالمرأة و الأم ، حيت تدور أحداث هذا الكتاب حول المعاناة التي تواجهها الأم طوال مسار حياتها منذ نعومة أظافرها ، ثم زواجها و تحملها اعباء الزوج ، و صبرها غير المحدود من أجل أطفالها . وصولا لمرحلة الشيخوخة التي تصاب فيها بمجموعة من الامراض ، و التي تجعل هذه الأم طريحة الفراش ، بالاضافة الى أصابتها بمرض الزهايمر .

This wasn't was I expected. I thought the book would talk a lot more in depth about the mom's past. There are some flashbacks at the beginning, but these only occur at the beginning. I would have liked if the book talked more in depth about Alzheimer's, I feel like a lot of it is glossed over. Also, I've never tried Morrocan food, but from the descriptions it sounds delicious.

أي حديث أو وصف في الأمهات غير عابر، أفكار الأم واهتماماتها وإن شابها الخرف تدل على طبيعة إنسان الأم المبني على محبة الغير والعطاء. السرد. خفيف وممل أحيانًا لكن التعمق في شخصية الأم مؤثر.

أحببت الكتاب حين كان يتحدث عن الأحداث التي حصلت والأمور الجميلة المتعلقة بعادات المغرب وما شابه، لكن شعرت بالملل وساءني جداً التكرار في بعض أجزاء الرواية.

Hard to follow... Great memoir

يظهر في هذه الرواية من أول سطورها، المرض الأدبي والتعب الحرفي. فلا يقتدر قارئٌ جيّد الاستمرار في القراءة فيها. ولم أحبذها منذ البداية، إلّا أنّي كنتُ أنتظر شيئًا ما لأتوقف عن القراءة فيها. وما إن راجعتُ وقرأتُ مراجعة أحد الأصدقاء، حتى أتممت قراري ورميتها بعيدًا عني. ويا أسفاهُ على وقتٍ ضاع في القراءة فيها.

This is a strange, emotional book. It is a story of pain, the pain of seeing one's mother depart from humanity, into the vicious grip of Alzheimer. I don't think I've ever read something so endearing and disturbing at the same time.
There are many things I liked about this book, the faithfull depiction of feelings - a mother's love, a son's love and devotion, sadness, misery.
Thinking back, I think that maybe, even the pages that I felt too repetitive, too annoying to read through, were just meant to accurately paint the whole picture of human life ending.

تتبدا في هذه الرواية/السيرة أرقى أنواع الحب وأخلصها. ألم الكتاب موجع للقارئ وذلك لصدقه ولصدق تجسيده عجز الأبناء في صد المحتوم عن أغلى من في الكون. كتاب ممتع وحزين خاصة لمن له تجربة مماثلة
