Doctor Heartless is steamy and emotion filled. It’s a romance with a lot of depth and so much heartbreak, but then there’s a sweetness to this story, too.

Landon Fritz is a single dad to his daughter Stella and a doctor, just like the other Fritz brothers, and is out for an uncharacteristic night out alone when he meets Elle, the recently divorced schoolteacher that’s new to Boston. They hit it off at the high-end bar and share one amazing night all while agreeing to keep it to just that: one night. Little do either of them know that they’re going to wind up becoming next-door neighbors literally the next day, and Landon’s little lie of letting Elle think he’s really his brother Luca is going to blow up in his face. Upon figuring out their new situation, things don’t go well and there’s quite a bit of drama, but through this book we see Landon and Elle move forward into so much more than neighbors annoyed with each other.

Landon and Elle are so good as the main characters! He’s definitely my favorite Fritz now. Like he’s surly but a devoted dad and secretively a really amazing guy. He has so much going on with his past with what happened so sadly to his deceased wife/Stella’s mother, and that’s really such a controlling factor when we first get into his story. It’s like there’s a war going on inside of him, and it’s something I found endearing and real about his character. Then, there’s Elle. She’s also got so much going on with her ex-husband and family, but she’s so strong and resilient. Somehow, despite everything she’s gone through, she’s still this sunshiny sort of character that has the ability to persevere no matter what. Her character is the sort you really root for, and I love how strong she is. The way Landon and Elle are with each other isn’t necessarily easy for a bit there, but I completely adored how their story unfolds.

Also, the supporting characters, especially Landon’s family, are such a driving force in this book (and series). If you’ve read the other books in this series, you’ll love how Landon’s family pops up when needed. They’re peppered in at just the right moments, and I really think they’re sort of catalysts for the individual characters’ changes in the series.

This is a spicy and loveable must read. It’s seriously everything I wanted Landon’s story to be, and I cannot wait for Luca’s story next.

Love romances with doctors as the central characters and this series has so many…

Doctor Heartless is the second chance story of history teacher Ellery Wilde and Dr Landon Fritz.

Warning: Characters from previous books in the series appear in this one.

Synopsis:
Elle is stuck in an unhappy marriage, and she has had enough of feeling like a dead person. The story starts six months after the prologue, with Dr Landon Fritz looking to score a date. He’s thirty-three, already loved and lost, and not looking for anything meaningful. He has a thirteen-year-old daughter, Stella, who is the light of his life.

Review:
Narrated from the first person dual perspective, Doctor Heartless is Landon and Elle’s story, the former often being mistaken for his playboy twin and the latter trying to move on with her life. Set in Boston, we have already been introduced to the Abbot-Fritz family in the previous books, who are one of the richest and most influential families in Boston.

Ellery Wilde is twenty-seven and needs to live life on her own terms after her recent divorce. Starting off in a new town is not easy, especially when she has to teach the new class “sex education” apart from US and World history. More so, when she realises the guy she slept with is the parent of one of her students!

Stella, Landon’s daughter, is a sweetheart, who just wants to have a meaningful connection with their new neighbour, especially because she had the same with the old one, her nanny. It was wonderful to see Stella and Elle bond over shared interests and funny to see Landon being jealous about why Elle isn’t there for him like that.

Reading about Elle and Landon’s home’s positioning reminded me of this Bollywood song Mere saamne waali khidki mein… The number of coincidences in this book was one too many but they made the story all the better with how they were linked.
My reasons, my life, my choices are my own, and I’ll be damned if I let anyone here make me feel bad about them.

As usual, this series and the Abbot-Fritz family at its heart make you wish that it were your own. But it says something that even with a loving and supportive family, you have to fight your own demons and that is what plagues Landon, his past and his unwillingness to move on with life since his wife’s death years ago.

But, once Landon becomes accepting of his reality, and starts letting in Elle, Doctor Heartless is full of heart and sexy and goes all out for his lady love.

The story concludes with a perfect epilogue. And there’s an introduction to Luca Fritz and Raven Fairchild, the protagonists of the next in the series, Doctor Playboy.

P.S. I want to share the following lines from the Author’s Note at the end.
When I first started this series, I knew Landon’s was going to be a heartbreaking story. Grief and guilt are funny things. They’re clingy and needy and wreak havoc. A lot of this story I felt was about healing and forgiveness. Not just for ourselves, but for others.

Thank you to Grey’s Promo for an e-ARC of the book.

I'm so glad I picked up the first book in this series and have continued with it. I will also, definitely, be reading more from this author. I've thoroughly enjoyed every book of this series so far, but the way I devoured this one, so good!

Landon is a single dad who has sworn off love. He might be punishing himself after his wife's death, but getting emotionally involved with someone else just isn't in the cards for him. His daughter has got to be his primary focus. But that doesn't mean he has to be a monk. The occasional one night stand shouldn't be a problem. Well, that is until the one night stand ends up being his new neighbor, and his daughter's new teacher. No matter how much he wants to, he can't stay away from her, and falling in love with her seems like the easiest thing, but there's a reason people call him Doctor Heartless, and loving her just can't be an option.

Landon was such a great dad and his grumpy tendencies were some of my favorites. I loved how he was with Stella and how she was the only person he soften around, at least until Elle broke down his walls, even though her fought her on it. I love how the relationship between Elle and Landon developed throughout the story, and I love how Elle made Stella a priority. I also really appreciated how the Landon's grief and guilt were handled. I was really glad that it wasn't overlooked or glossed over, but that it was something her really had to work through, and I love that he did work through it, and I love that Elle supported him through it all. I loved Elle as female lead, her strength was enviable.

I'm very much looking forward to the next book in this series and would easily recommend this one to anyone who enjoys the following.

✔️ Single Dad
✔️ One Night Stand
✔️ Forced Proximity (Neighbors)
✔️ Enemies to Lovers
✔️ Grumpy/Sunshine
✔️ Teacher/Parent
✔️ Billionaire
✔️ Doctor Hero
✔️ Tortured Hero (Widower)
✔️ First Person Dual POV

I love this series! This ending seemed a bit abrupt.. hence the 4 stars, but I enjoyed the book and will continue with the series

This book was so so good! I have really enjoyed this whole series and the books just keep getting even better!

HOLY COW!! The connection and chemistry between Ellery and Landon starts from their first hello. I don’t want to spoil anything, but this book is really really good. It has GREAT feels and so much passion.

I really love J. Saman’s work. I especially love how we get to see small glimpses of past couples and how they’re doing. It makes my heart happy.

I love single dad romances and this one was relatively drama free. I thought the sister would cause more drama but we hardly hear from her.
I am very excited to read Lucas story!! We get hints of it in the other books and I'm so excited for a second chance forbidden love story. I'm also a sucker for age gaps so that one will be right up my alley.

Doctor Heartless is the third book in J. Saman’s Boston’s Bachelor Billionaire series and might just be my most favorite yet.

I absolutely adored this book! Landon was such a grumpy asshole that you can’t help but love. He’s been living with grief and guilt over the death of his wife for years and has no plans of changing that or letting anyone in. But then he meets Elle and there’s no going back.

J. Saman creates absolutely amazing heroines and I have loved them all. But there was definitely something special about Elle. A southern girl newly moved to Boston and recently divorced after a rough marriage, she’s eager for a fresh start. She was wise, strong, and so full of heart.

Landon and Elle start off as strangers; a one-night stand on Elle’s first night in Boston. Then they discover that not only are they neighbors, but Elle is also the new teacher for Stella, Landon’s thirteen year old daughter. Forced into each other’s lives, they soon discover they’re exactly what they each need.

I’ve already read this book twice; that’s how much I loved it! And if you enjoy enemies/neighbors to lovers, single parent, angsty, romances, Doctor Heartless is for you!
