I wondered if I'd be rooting for them by this book because I wasn't in the first, but surprisingly I think Laurent made back a lot of what he did in the first book in this. I get why this series has so many fans

I officially can enjoy enemies to lovers!

phenomenal. so much better than the first book I was completely taken aback. The author did a miraculous job developing some characters I thought to be unsalvageable. I truly haven’t experienced reading a book or watching a show like this in ages. the twists kept coming and coming and coming. I spent at least half the book holding my breath. literally breathtaking

Emocionante. Todo el libro fue bastante bueno, pero quiero resaltar la segunda mitad y en especial ese último tercio en el que fue directamente imposible dejar de leer por la cantidad de cosas que estaban pasando.

The first book was absolutely perfect- and this one is, somehow, even moreso. The political intrigue was INCREDIBLE; there were plays here that caught me completely off guard and made my heart flutter at the sheer amount of thought & foreshadowing! So so good! And so so messed up!!

Impeccable dialogue and characters, as always- I just adore Damen and Laurent's relationship progression here so much. From hatred to tense allyship to hesitant friendship to the fragile care at the end here.... it's just impeccable ❤️ 
Truly such a joy, I'm literally buying book 3 this instant
