The ideas in this book aren’t all bad, some bits are even good, but my god was this an insufferable read.

I finished it (quickly tbf) because it’s been on my radar for so long and I really wanted to like it. I had some fun with this book rolling my eyes back but would not recommend haha

Memoir? Advice? This book is about Glennon falling in love with Abby Wambach and divorcing her husband to start a new life with her. Along the way, she imparts her lessons about how to be a strong woman, true to herself. It wasn’t a bad book. I even cried a little. But also it was a bit too woo for me, a bit too “I’ve found the way”.

Second time through, just felt like coming back to it and to no one’s surprise, I’m very glad I did.

I genuinely did like this book. It voiced some of how I feel about my relationship with spirituality and tamed some of my fear of being a mother (a good one) in the future. It was the first time ever that I felt the need to annotate a book for myself rather than a class. It's not perfect by any means, but there are glimpses of gold for me in it.

Reads as a series of blog posts/essays, not as cohesive or story-ish as I was hoping for.
But will written, smart.
