SO GOOD. Loved the art and the storyline. Absolutely adored Max!! Definitely my fave character aside from Raven. So much great representation in this too!! It had Black, Disability (wheelchair, crutches), Muslim - Hijabi, Asian, POC, & WLW representation.

I can already tell this is going to be a fantastic graphic novel series, this first book alone has absolutely gorgeous art and a well-written storyline that is easy to follow but intriguing and mysterious. I loved learning about Raven and her backstory, as well as seeing her relationships with her family develop. The magic and lore introduced were very interesting and make me excited to see more once she hones her powers. Overall great graphic novel and I am hooked, lovely collaborative work by Kami Garcia and Gabriel Picolo. I discovered his art a long time ago on twitter when he was just making Teen Titans fanart, so I am very happy for him and pleased to see his work become official in a DC comic.

I loved the art style in this! It had a kind of watercolor effect, and I love watercolors in graphic novels. It's one of my favorite things. The story was pretty well done too, giving background to characters that readers might be familiar, they might not be.

Honestly, I love this line of DC YA graphic novels for that. I think it's a good way to get teens and kids into comics and a clearer way. Because let's be honest, getting into DC or Marvel comics can be confusing. Overall, this one was a quick read, but definitely entertaining!

Raven was my favorite character on the Cartoon Network edition of Teen Titans. Glad to see another interpretation of her character.

I really enjoyed this one! Raven has always been a favorite. I’ve never really know much about her character and background beyond the Teen Titans show from when I was a kid. And getting to see a new origin story for her is awesome! I also really liked that this book focused on family and finding where you belong. I also really liked how the city of New Orleans was almost a character onto itself. It really shines through the illustrations. Teen Titans: Raven is getting a solid four out of five stars.

My first introduction to Raven and the Teen Titans was via the Cartoon Network show which ran from 2003 to 2006, while I was in high school. I loved the action, the comedy, and all the characters, but especially Raven—who had the perfect amount of snark and intelligence to appeal to teenagers, plus a ton of drama and angst to keep you invested in her story—and Beast Boy—the shapeshifter and goofball. So when I saw they each had a new book/graphic novel out, I knew I had to jump in on that nostalgia and see what my fave Titans were up to.

Overall, I really enjoyed the introduction to this world of the Teen Titans. I think familiar fans will enjoy this new take on Raven's origin along with some Easter-eggs pointing toward future developments, while newcomers will enjoy getting to know a relatable character in an extraordinary situation. The artwork is really great in bringing the characters and action to life, and while the coloring isn't always understandable, it certainly does its job to draw the eye where it needs to focus. I'd definitely recommend this to any DC comics/movies fans, as well as those interested in YA heroes & heroines. It may be a quick read, but that just means it'll take less time to hook you and get you excited for more.
