In full transparency, I saw a lot of myself in this book. A lot of my darkest times and worst decisions is reflected in Queenie and what she went through. We're human, we're not perfect, and sometimes we go on paths of self destruction before coming back out of the rubble and realizing who we are and what we deserve.

Queenie is a great pace story, very emotional rollercoaster, hope she gets a sequel where she's a little further on her healing journey, because she does not catch a break.

This book took a little warming to at the beginning but then delves in to such a deeply honest story that I could barely put it down!

I was hooked from the start and was rooting for Queenie all the way. Queenie is going through a lot. She is not making the right choices during a difficult time. Her world is falling apart but she needs to get up and pull herself together. This book is about Queenie's journey during that time. This book also covers a lot of topics: being a black girl in this world, mental illness, black lives matter, metoo, complicated family issues, friendship and more. I loved it.

Audiobook. This book hit home for me; I saw parts of myself and so many of my friends in the pages. But there were also elements to this story that I had never considered before and opened my eyes. Excellent narration and exceptional story.
