The setting, overall plot, and mythology that were developed in the story were all really cool. Overall I really enjoyed the book but I was really not into <spolier>the incest.

Exquisite prose and filled with vexing, haunting description on every page. This was one of the best books I've read in a while, and a departure from my usual taste in pacing. The characters, while perhaps not the most likeable, are fascinating to follow, and the mystery they are entwined in is incredibly well put together and fun to try and unravel as you go along. Overall a dark, strange, and incredibly unique take on gothic fantasy.
