bottom line it was just really fun to read. the characters are dark and twisted and you go through every phase of liking and hating them and everything's so angsty and dramatic. i have my own nitpicky things to dock points off from my personal rating but this was a fantastic read. will definitely read the sequel(s).

first half was 5 star, second half was 3 stars so evened out to 4 overall. Literally perfect if Eli had better character motivation and the book was another 100 pages long imo, that, and the fact that most of the book felt pretty rushed is my only criticism. chefs kiss besides that. I LOVE v.e schwab’s writing style mmm
