Loved this and will definitely continue with the series in the future. Admittedly a lot of it is predictable but somehow that didn't stop me getting caught up in the story and loving every minute of it.

I loved this book. Thank you for recommending it, Jennifer. I can't wait to read the rext of this series.
I am that girl that hates romance novels; I love fiction and I love Christian books. In my opinion the best books are when someone dies! I love true crime, and love reading about Lizzie Borden, Frankie Silver or even Bonnie and Clyde. However, I joined an online book club that is dedicated to Karen's books and found myself loving the people in the group to the point that I was referring to them as "my Baxters." But to get an appreciation, I decided to read Redemption because I kept hearing a lot about The Baxters and wanted to know more about who they were and what the big deal was about their family.
I grew up in a Christian family, much like the Baxter family--except we would have been "wrong side of the track" kind of folk. Just like the Baxters, my family loved each other, prayed for and supported one another. However, unlike the Baxters, my family doesn't try to help one another, and in this book, as I read the story of Kari Baxter Jacobs, I couldn't help but wish that Kari's family was my family; that we had that same deep bond that the Baxter clan has with one another.
By the end of the book, Kari's hurt was my hurt, Angela Manning's grief was my grief; but I couldn't help but to cheer for Ryan Taylor from the moment I first met him. And I saw myself in Ashley, minus the child.
You see Karen Kingsbury doesn't just write love stories, her characters are just like you and I--they have real emotions and their "plots" can happen to any of us. Like many people, Redemption was my true, 100% introduction to Karen's writing and I can't wait to read more of her books! She's absolutely amazing!

It was a slow read until the end but I enjoyed reading it before bed. The ending threw me off quite a bit. Probably wouldn't read more from this author unless it had a plot that particularly interested me, this is not one of my usual genres but nice for a change
A very predictable but lovable series. It is hard not to fall in love with the characters and desire to find out what happens next.

Started a little slow and a little predictable, but a touching book with enduring characters...definitely will keep on with the series.
