The Pucking Wrong Number is a steamy hockey romance that uses the mistaken identity trope. When the hero accidentally texts the wrong number, the heroine unknowingly initiates a flirtatious and sizzling conversation with a hockey player. What starts as a series of cheeky, anonymous texts soon becomes more emotionally complex as their lives begin to intertwine in real life.

C.R. Jane provides an easy, trope-filled read in this book, perfect for fans of spicy sports romances and playful banter. The chemistry between the two leads is undeniable, and the text exchanges are fun and engaging.

I found that the story relies heavily on clichés, and the plot is predictable with few surprises. The character development feels somewhat shallow, and the book is a little lengthy for what it offers. That said, this is a light, sexy read. It’s a fun escape with a touch of hockey heat.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, easy read, this book hits all the right notes, even though it doesn’t break new ground.

🌶️🌶️🌶️

I read the book in 24 hours. I did love Lincoln. A man who is absolutely obsessed with the FMC and making her is so takes questionable action to achieve this. Add in a sad backstory, awful parents, oh and he is a star hockey player. I was totally there for it and he was 👌.

Monroe as the FMC was also great. Yes at times she was a little oblivious but I liked her for that. She has so much going on, huge fears she will turn out like her mum and is always guarded so who can blame her. I would have loved a little more about her relationship with Bill but I felt like I really knew her.

I am not a hockey girlie - I am all about the cowboys, MC members, gang members and secret societies but this is a great gateway book. Not too much hockey but enough to get the sense of it.  This is a dark romance due to Lincoln’s behaviour to Monroe but isn’t too dark so is a good entry if you want to try darker romances. I am defo going to be reading the next in the series.

This was a good book.  Thought it would be a little different,  but I liked it.  I need more spice between Lincoln and Monroe!!! I need the next book!
