I am so disappointed in this book. I thought for sure I was going to love it- I mean it's hocky and dark romance. Welp, unfortunately this book kinda sucked.

This book was not romantic at all- just overly sexual and obsessive. The MMC is morally grey, but not FOR her, but TO her. This genuinely baffles me because I thought the whole point of being morally grey was for the love interest, like hers a murderer (not great) but kills anyone who hurts her (great), except this book is the opposite??????? It is genuinely abuse tactics and the MMC laughs about it and makes a joke about Stockholm Syndrome. The FMC is not too bad but she regularly has "I know I don't know about him but I just care about him so much" or similar thoughts and actively ignores the red flags.

Also the smut wasn't even good.

I chose this, despite having a severe ick towards books with “pucking” in the title, because I read The Wrong Quarterback and really enjoyed it. It’s a spin off of this series, so it made sense to get into this one.

All the regrets!

I don’t know why the high rating, because while yes this is “dark and morally grey anti-hero” it was not good.

I didn’t like the FMC, she was annoying and I didn’t think she had any backbone to stand up for herself in any aspect. Yes she had a tragic childhood but overall I just felt she lacked.

The MMC Lincoln, yes was unhinged but so delusional.
His family/home life was wild and inexcusable, but I did not find any redeeming quality for me to root for him.

I’m all for stalker/dark/obsessive but there was no reason other than she was pretty. I don’t know if it was the writing style or this specific story, but it missed the mark for me.
