If you need a good sports romance but make it dark, this book is for you. I was in such a book slump and this cured it. Consumed this book so fast.

While the hockey aspects were a bit too unrealistic this book hit all the darkness correctly. Perfect amount of spice throughout the whole book.

May we all find morally grey MMCs who tattoo our name on them before truly meeting us.

This reads like hot trash, but entertaining hot trash.

My new favorite color is your eye color?? Buying out a restaurant to end a surprise date she’s on?? Being willing to pay for a whole class's tuition just so she goes to one of your games??? Buying the surrounding seats on a flight so nobody has the chance to interact with her?? Putting her name on the back of your jersey (which I will admit was actually kind of cute of Lincoln.)

But don’t get me wrong, because this needs to be addressed, I understand the possessive note but sabotaging all of the things she has going on in her life like evicting her from her apartment and making her get fired in an attempt to bend her life the way you want it is actually psychotic and should not be overlooked in anyway. This is one of those third act breakups (if you can even call it that because he chains her to a bed to keep her from leaving) that actually makes sense. Like I wouldn't want to be with a guy who sabotaged all of the things I had going for myself.

And let’s not overlook the tattoo. Like I'm not sure whether to be concerned or flattered on behalf of Monroe, but I'm leaning more towards concerned because what??

Overall, I will surprisingly be continuing the series because this is actually fun.

Re-read in 12/24 and bumped up the rating to 4-stars.
Lincoln is such a crazy, unhinged, obsessed hero, I love it. I do wish though that Monroe had given him more hell when the “conflict” hit. All in all, I thought that the entire third act conflict was quite unnecessary and didn’t do much for the story except for showing how psychotic Lincoln truly is.

I hated both of the main characters, I love a good morally grey man, but not this one…

Had alot of good buildup and back story however i am not into forced proximity with the use of drugs or confinement. Therefore, the book is not for me. This is toxic, forced proximity.

Way too misogynistic and damsel in distress complex. I mean just completely toxic
