Hush, Hush

Is it good? Objectively no. Is it one of my favorite book? Yes. We all have that book from high school/middle school that was peak YA that even 10 years after reading it you will look past its flaws. like does patch kinda suck? for sure. Does Nora have any self presevation? of course not. Is there an a ambiguously "curvy" funny friend? Big Vee fan. Do I still eat this book up when I am in a reading slump? HELL YEAH.

“You smell good, too,” said Patch

It’s called a shower.” I was staring straight ahead. When he didn’t answer, I turned sideways. “Soap. Shampoo. Hot water.”

Naked. I know the drill.”

LOVED this- it's what Twilight wanted to be. I wish it was a whole series, actually. Fast-paced, well-written, great characters, and a lot of realistic relationship tension (just remember to read it as a teen book, not an adult book - otherwise sometimes Nora's behavior can seem annoying). I can't wait for her next book!!

Ok I finished Hush Hush this morning and let me just say wow! Again I spill a lot so if you haven’t read it yet skip this paragraph. First of all Vee and Nora, totally like me and my 16 year old friendship with my BFF! We got into all kinds of trouble together although we never met any angels or nephilim! We were sneaky and blunt like Nora and Vee. To this day we dont have any secrets, she knows everything about me. I related more to Vee than Nora but still I was pulled along with Nora!

I never thought all through the book that Jules had it in him. Wow was I wrong. He seemed a little off yes, but I felt more set up for him to be Vee's sort of hero. But man, he was great at hiding himself. The final confession made my jaw drop. The tall kid was the creepy one, WHAT?

Nora is a great detective. But she never let her guard down. She knew something was going on the whole time and the more she pushed and wished it away the more action she received. And the romance with Patch! Wow I think I have another book BF! He is rough but sweet ant the total bad boy type I love so much! Loved it! Totally loved it and I can’t wait for the next book to show up in my mail box!

Literally felt like the story went nowhere until chapter 24 of 30. Probably won’t continue reading this series.

Hush Hush was a pretty good book. Not the best, but definitely not the worst. For me, it dragged a lot. It wasn't until the last five chapters that I actually read some action scenes. I was expecting a lot more fighting. A lot more. :P

However, the suspense and plot twists were pretty good. It was pretty slow at first, but about 3/4 of the way through I couldn't stop reading it. Yay yay!

I do adore Patch, though. He's quite amazing. :) Now Nora...she was a good character overall-built with flaws and talents-but I didn't care for some of her personality. She was always so serious and never really gave a reason for her inability to trust people. I dunno, maybe it's just me. I actually did like the chemistry between her and Patch though; the fact that he could make her feel so attracted unwillingly fascinated me. ;)

So I heard t

he sequel sucks, and I have eleven books to read yet. I might get to the sequel sometime, but definitely not anytime soon. I'll get around to it for sure.

As for y'all wondering whether or not you should read it, you can go ahead if you wish. It wasn't awesome or anything, but I definitely didn't hate it. -shrug-

I can only call book parent approved teeny porn. The characters are about as deep and likable as one would find in the adult counterpart.
Most of the reason I read the young adult books is because they tend to have a message or an issue they are dealing with or its the heroes quest, but whatever the case there is growth there.
There is nothing of the sort in this book. Its pretty much all self indulgence.
The bad guy is never given any motivation, the love story is told exclusively from one side and that side is rather creepy, the best friend is stupid, awful, and underhanded.
Ick, so did not like the characters.

But I did read the entire book, mostly just to find out what happens. Speed reading for the win.

I have a thing for bad boys. And how much more bad can you get than being a fallen Angel? Being a very critical person by nature I tend to pick books apart while reading. Throughout this whole book I was trying to figure out the ending (which is unlike me, I usually pick apart characters and grammar). I was dying to know what happened next so incredibly badly that I was trying to guess it. I devoured this book in something like 9 hours. Fallen angels, Bad boy extraordinaire, forbidden love, and very real characters all made this book get well over five stars. But to add to it, the plot twists were amazing and the writing flawless. Even with the fact that I read an ARC and therefore there were grammatical flaws here and there... there were less errors than in the standard published novel. Which scores major props in my book. I'm going to be buying this when it hits shelves October 13th so I can read it again later. Yes, it was that good that I already want to reread it. Can't wait for the sequel.

Esta calificación la doy simplemente porque por un breve momento me mantuvo intrigada.
