This was a fast, easy read. I loved the premise, but Patch was creepy and all the rape reviews are spot on. And so many little things seemed off. Why are all the cars do old? And who honestly has dial up in 2009? Why does your mom drive you to school then expect you to walk home in the dark a day after your (worthless 1880s) "best friend" was attacked? And who leaves a sophomore home alone overnight on a regular basis? It needs a lot more editing and a reality check and to drop the creepy in a bad way bits.

Awesome excited to read the next!

As is to be expected when revisiting any YA novel you first encountered ~10 YEARS AGO (

There are good points and bad points. You either love it or hate it.
I have so many thoughts on this book but I'll start by saying.. Thank God this is not another vampire book!

Vampires have infested the fantasy/paranormal romance genre to the brink and I am tired of handsome, bloodsucking dead guys. That's right, now I'm ready for handsome, fallen-from-heaven dead guys. Or not so dead... which is the case in this book, I think, seeing as these angels never seemed to have been humans in the first place.

Nora Grey falls in love with her mysterious biology partner; Patch.
From the start he seemed fishy. But that doesn't stop her from falling for him. Nor does the fact that she thinks he's stalking her...or that strange, creepy things have been happening to her ever since he came into the picture.
And that's what seemed most crazy to me; Patch is walking, talking Danger. I get it; girls are attracted to the bad-boy types but it only goes so far before it becomes absurd.

Other than that, this book was a breath of fresh air and I enjoyed it more or less. The romance was fantastically paced and well written. The subject of fallen angels in the paranormal romance genre was new and exciting.
Just watch out for Vee, Nora's annoying sidekick who decides that she wanted to break in, and play hide-and-seek in the school building and almost gets herself killed doing so.

Boy oh boy was that amazing !! Patch is too hot!!! yeesh! I suspected Joules all along he was so werid but im so happy im boutta start cresendo this very second !

I love this book. I have fond memories of this book, I can remember sitting in my bedroom and reading this, it's a nice feeling :). Really interesting story and it gets more and more complex and interesting in the rest of the series. The plot is great and a very, very cool ending :)

I wish I never read this

LMAO!

This was hilariously bad. Nora, a high-school sophomore, has her life spun out of control when she gets a new biology partner: the mysterious Patch. Patch seems to be following her everywhere, makes comments that imply he knows things he shouldn't, and does things like force Nora to let him into her home (creep!).

If all of this wasn't enough, the new-er boy in school, Eliott, is ALSO super into Nora, but he has a dangerous past that makes Nora think that he might not be what he seems.

Nora is, of course, skinny with great legs. But she doesn't feel as pretty as her "few pounds over curvy" friend, Vee. Yes, that's how she's described. So don't worry, YA audience, Vee is fat and she isn't going to be competition for the two sexy boys!

This was just terrible. Patch (problem one, that name) is SO creepy and scary despite trying to be the main interest. There are moments where he's downright threatening to Nora, and I just don't understand her attraction to him at all. Her best friend tells her that she thinks Patch attacks her (clearly a ruse, but still) and she defends him! When she thinks her friend might be telling the truth, she STILL continues to hang out with Patch!

The whole 'angel' storyline that is supposed to be so important is completely missing except to be a backdrop of the mysterious nature of Patch. This was honestly just a poorly-written story about a young girl who gets influenced by a much older guy because she has no parental figures at all. Terrible!

I love this series!
