i forgot everything about this book like i could not tell you one thing but i know that i’ve read it!

this book really crosses the line between sexy bad boy and assailant. a boy admitting that he wants to kill you is not sexy ladies.

I don't give a fuck.

I loved this book.

Whatevs.

EDIT 2024:
I'd left a long, ranty review 10+ years ago when I read it, and really, there was no reason to.
This is the gist: The book isn't good, I hope it was written for a cash grab after the success of Twilight and its many knockoffs, and honestly? If that's the case, I hope it succeeded. As far as I remember, the only redeeming quality is that it reads easily.

Alright, so, where to begin?
I picked this up for my Kobo, because it was my absolute favourite series, back in the day. I remember tearing through them like my life depended on it. And, as unfortunate it is to say, that did not happen this time around.

To be fair, I was a teenager when I first read them. Either fifteen, or sixteen years old. I'm almost twenty nine now, a couple more weeks. But I usually love reading YA stories.

With this one, however, it was all over the place. Not to mention how disgustingly Patch behaved (how did I ever have a crush on him??). He quite literally forces himself on Nora, when she literally tells him no. And, out of the blue, with hardly any cause to like him after repeatedly telling him no, she decides that she wants him??

And how is Nora, who is supposed to be smart, so fucking dumb???

'The person I really want to harm can't be harmed. Do you know who that person is?'

'I don't know.'

It's obviously Patch??? Come on now, Nora. Use your non-existent brains, honey.

'I made you see what I wanted you to see.'
'No, I would have recognised you.'

What part of 'he can print whatever he wants you to see in your mind' didn't you get, hm ??

And also, what was the whole deal with depicting a scene of Nora & Vee, two underaged girls, shopping for underwear?? Could have done without that, honestly.

Speaking of Vee, I adored her when I was a teen. Now, however, she is such a shitty friend. When Nora, quite literally, tells her that Elliot threatened her, with physical violence, she brushes it off and later on expects her to go to a party with her held by Elliot. Um, what??

The last twenty percent of the story were also extremely slow, I had to force myself to keep on reading. I was this close to DNFing it. The reveal that it was Jules all along?? It was done in such a boring way. Pretending to be dead and then turning around like 'sike!! i'm alive and was the big bad all along!!' It would have made much more sense if Dabria was the one wearing the ski-mask, the one behind the attacks, since it had already been established that she wanted Nora out of the way (and went so far as trying to kill her, several times), but then the story does a full 360° and it's revealed that, of course, the ski-mask assailant was a whole different guy. It's just far too much happening in one story.

i remember reading it when I was in mid school and I was like ehhh. it wasn’t good lol and from what I remember the dude was a toxic person and the whole plot was boring. very cliché

Recommended to people who like characters who are TSTL. Annoying "heroine" and "hero." Twilight rip off with an even worse plot. How is this horsesh*t so popular???
