I absolutely loved this book!
It was a slow-medium paced book for me
•So I know that this book is often categorized as a Christian book, or a faith self-help book, and I see why it would be. I am not a religious person, I do not personally believe in a higher power, however, I found this book to be super insightful!
•I love me a good self-help book, and this also being a fiction book made reading it so much more enjoyable, it felt like less of a to-do list type of book.
•I have always found that looking at things from a different point of view may help us to see what we are missing, and this book is all about perspective. Sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of that and this book was a pleasant reminder.
•I highly recommend this book to pretty much anyone and everyone.
The Noticer by Andy Andrews is one of those books you'll tell your friends and family about, and each one will come away with a different message. The people of Orange Beach, Alabama have been visited for years by a man calling himself Jones, no Mister just Jones, who carries a battered suitcase wherever he goes and changes everyone he meets. Jones takes the time to pay attention to the world around him recognizing that it's the little things that change the world. The book follows him as he counsels married couples, type A personalities, and those who think their life has no purpose. To each he has a message of hope as well as a promise that what they do matters not only to them, but to future generations. This slim novella packs a great deal of punch when it comes to wisdom. I think it's a book I'll reread at different times in my life, because with each reading will come new understanding. This time Jones' story about seagulls was for me:
"Five seagulls are sitting on a dock. One of them decides to fly away. How many seagulls are left? "
"Well...four."
"No, there are still five. Deciding to fly away and actually flying away are two very different things."
Did a lightbulb go on for you? It certainly did for me! It's a terrific book for book clubs or gift-giving.

A little interesting..about perspective. Free Friday book
A motivational book that details the more positive side of life's many challenges through an illustrative narrative.
I give it full stars because I feel very encouraged by putting at least one of his ideas into practice, and getting a lot from that. Also, my mother read it, and surprised me by saying it inspired her to write a letter to someone who has been pressing her buttons.
More quite like a collection of small stories and each of them has similar structure, which becomes predictable as the book goes on. Therefore, reading the book makes it feel like reading a text book kind of because you will kind of expect to learn something after each chapter. Some of the lessons are eye opening (such as about the relationships), some are very obvious. Not entirely been wowed with this book, 3*/5*
A bit melodramatic and very ham-fisted, but most of the ideas it tried to convey were useful.
a good book. some things weren't new to me... others were a fresh point of view....
The Noticer is a short story about a small town with an old man who dishes out guidance and advice. I know I’m going against the grain here, but it was way too cheesy. The guy just invites himself into people’s business and tells them what they should be doing. Not to mention, the people he approaches are just too unbelievable in their ways, and then suddenly their lives are changed.
I agree that a lot of the life lessons are fine, but it was so cheesy I didn’t care about the lesson regardless.
If it was any bigger i probably would’ve just DNF’d it
