I enjoyed the lesson but not really the story. It was just a bit too contrived or hokey for me. Not that it was written poorly but I found it just a little too much.
This was a fun, light read that seemed to bend over backwards in its attempt to be meaningful. I appreciated the "common wisdom" that was woven throughout the story, but I just didn't find it quite as compelling as it was probably meant to be. I like the hero of the story, Jones, with his gift of wisdom and encouragement, but the premise of his seeming agelessness and almost omniscience were just a little too far over the top for me to find the story believable. It is meant to have somewhat of an allegory flavor, so maybe that aspect is part of the allegory. I am sure many people will love the story... and you may be one of them! Check it out and see for yourself.

Overall, a good book. While these seem like obvious words to live by, in my opinion, I can see darker moments of my life (and others') where a book like this might have been insightful and inspirational.
There's some great wisdom and truth here despite a pretty flimsy story line.
A simple read but one of the best books on perspective I’ve read. One I will have to read again throughout my life.
