LOVE LOVE LOVE. The voice is incredible!!! I will read ANYTHING Isaac Fitzsimons writes. This book has my entire heart. While there's a lot of transphobia, both blatant and insidious, in the plot, it's always challenged and denounced.

"You have to do what’s right for you. Sometimes existing is enough.”

“But seriously, though. I think that the more people who are out and visible, the safer it is for everyone. BUT, and this is a big but, you need to make sure that you’re safe first. Physically safe, yes, but also emotionally and psychologically. Whether you come out tomorrow or in five years, or thirty years, I guarantee that the fight will still be going on in some form or another. And I promise that when you join us, we’ll welcome you with open arms.”

This book healed something in me. I am not okay but I think I will be.

I devoured this book in a few hours. There are dark bits, but on the whole it is sweet and hopeful.

The pacing, the plot, the characters... everything was perfect, in a light-and-pretty-heartwarming sort of way. I flew through this book and loved every second of it.

I loved this story a lot, although I felt that the ending was too hasty and things happened too quickly.

It’s so nice to see how the relationship between Spencer and Justice blossoms as each one has to deal with their problems (Spencer is so clueless! Seriously, how can you be so dumb not to notice the vibe you have with Justice). Besides, I love watching football shine through the story.

The football team is so considerate of Spencer, and they know he has potential from the start.
It pains me to see how Justice’s family doesn’t appreciate him for who he is, and that he had to hide his secret for so many years for thinking about what they would do to him. I feel bad that he had to move away from his family and home in the end, but at least he’s fulfilling his dreams while he can have Spencer by his side (not literally).
