This book was okay. Similarly to the book prior, Steel Princess, I enjoyed the plot and the mysterious elements of the narrative. The constant back and forth over these three books between Elsa deciding she likes Aiden and then deciding she doesn’t again is just too much. The smut in this is down right inappropriate at times and really not for me, sorry. I also just don’t find myself in love with Elsa and Aiden as a couple, so the romance elements of it just don’t hit where they should. There were for sure some romantic moments which I loved, like the back story behind the arrow tattoos for example, but just overall not enough. I did like the gradual reveal of Elsa’s memories and just how much her past trauma is interwoven with Aiden’s though.
I’m not sure whether I’ll read the remainder of the Royal Elite series or not, I know the rest of the books all now centre around different characters/couples which could be interesting, so we’ll see.

RE-READ: Ahhhhh, what a conclusion and quite suspenseful! Rina writes some pretty addicting stuff. Definitely been enjoying my re-read.

Twisted Kingdom, the final book is here and we have all the answers we've been waiting for. Aiden's still … well, you know, but let's be real, that wasn't going to change ;-)

Naturally, dark romances aren't for everyone, it really pushes you to read outside of your comfort zone. Yeah, there were definitely a couple things that I could have done without and didn't really seem necessary to mention. But Elsa used it to hurt Aiden knowing she'd regret it. But that's what these two do. They're something wild, but I was still here for them and ready for the ride they were going to take me on.

Rina is an absolute mastermind with her characters and Aiden is the perfect example of that. She gave us this cruel, menacing hero that is pretty much a sociopath, but even he had some character development throughout their story. And despite everything, you can't help, but love him a little. He's honest, cunning and intense through and through.

In this one, we get to know all of Elsa and she definitely has a bit of a dark side to her that's perfectly matched to Aiden. I loved the mystery behind their story and just everyone that was involved. It's kind of crazy and yeah, messed up. But wow, what. a. story.

I'll be honest, I didn't think this needed three books, but much like Aiden and Elsa, I was obsessed. Rina wrote an intriguing story with some very memorable characters. From all the twists and turns, I couldn't put it down.
There's more to come with this series and I can't wait!
