The close attention to detail throughout contributed to a claustrophobic immersiveness. Very effective in contributing to the tragedy and violence while obscuring the graphic nature of it.

This is a novel that will sit on my heart for a while. One that I wish I could dissect in a classroom setting due to the amount of symbolism displayed. Very layered. Very important.

Damn. I have to sit with this one. The writing was gripping, the premise gut-wrenching, the message beautiful and terrible all at once. Definitely something meant to be consumed in one sitting, and something I’d recommend to others.
