Ahsoka

2.5 stars. Ahsoka is one of my favourite, if not my favourite, Star Wars character. I really wanted to like this book. I just couldn’t get into the story, and honestly have no interest in any of the new characters. I really like the part about the lightsabers and wished it had been longer.

Full disclosure: when I first started reading Ahsoka, I wasn’t sure it would be for me. The first fifty pages or so, I was pretty unconvinced. There is not a big level of description, and I think the author relied on the reader’s knowledge of all things Star Wars to help them piece the worlds together visually.
.
Once I got into the swing of that, I wound up enjoying the characters and the story a lot more than I expected to. The lack of frills let me slip into the world in a way I wasn’t expecting, and my brain wound up just filling in the scenes’ context. I feel like there’s quite a bit I could learn from the style of writing to be honest, especially since it isn’t something I naturally gravitate towards.
.
Ahsoka remains one of my favorite characters, headstrong and just, with just enough internal struggle to make you love her. I loved her from the time she was Anakin’s padawan, so getting to see her in a post-Order 66 story tugged a bit at the heart strings.
.
Ultimate decision: give yourself a bit to settle into it, an enjoyable Star Wars story for fans of the series. 3.5 stars!

I SAY THIS EVERY DAY OF MY DAMN LIFE BUT I WILL LOVE AND TREASURE AHSOKA TANO UNTIL THE DAY I DIE I LOVE YOU BABY..... THAT ENDING........ UGH IM TURNING ON REBELS SEASON 2 RN

I enjoyed this book very much. Ties in nicely with Clone Wars (animated) and Rebels. Ashoka is one of my favorite characters and Ms. Johnston did not disappoint in her portrayal of Ashoka.

This is one of the best Star Wars books I've read. It definitely helps if you've seen Clone Wars and Rebels, and you like Ahsoka and care about her story. If all of that is true, you are going to LOVE this book.

Excellent continuation of the Ahsoka story!

Clever, interesting and fast paced. I especially enjoyed the connections to other characters. Of course, now I just want more.

Good light reading. About what I expected.
