Tyler and Olivia meet at a wedding and have instant chemistry but she's not looking for love right now. When he shows up at her family farm looking for a job she can't resist and hires him knowing a romance between them can't happen. What follows is a slow burn friends to lovers, forced proximity, dual POV forbidden romance.

I loved the farm setting and the way Tyler supports Olivia's dream to open a farm to table restaurant. Perfect for fans of books like Kate Watson's Strawberry fields for never, Staci Hart's Bet the farm, Abby Jimenez's Part of your world or Camilla Isley's Love to hate you. There's just something about baby goats and farm romcoms that deliver on all the feels!

This is part of a series but definitely can be read as a standalone. I loved the narration by Charlie Thurston and Renée Chambliss too!

Steam level: kissing only

Love Off-Limits is a very cute love story, although it's a tad bit more about reconnecting with family too.

I love Tyler and Olivia's chemistry together - like they really understand each other despite Tyler not knowing Olivia much but decided to be near her and work at her family's farm. But honestly, I found Olivia a bit irritating. Tyler gave up everything to be with her, his job, his friends, but she keeps pushing him away because she thinks she needs to prove herself to her family and is so anxious to even talk to her family about ownership/leadership of the farm.
There's nothing wrong with proving yourself, but I think that if you need to do it - to prove yourself in front of your family, then your family just needs to reassure you and comfort you. For sure many of us have family problems, but I think the first step to get a clearer perspective of things is to just talk. It would at least lighten the load of whatever is messed up. With Olivia's case tbh, gusto ko syang batukan, almost everyone around her is saying to just talk with her dad, her family, and yet she keeps putting it off. But I'm glad she was able to overcome her problems, and she and Tyler were together in the end.

That seemed like a rant than a review. Hahaha

Baby goats and a sweet love story, what more could you want?

I love Stonebrook farm and the Hawthorne family and this story did not disappoint! Sweetness abounds for Olivia and Tyler, and I loved following their very real family tension and journey to self discovery as well as HEA!

Baby goats

Reader’s Notes:

– this is book 3 of a series but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Olivia and Tyler’s points of view

Review:

Does anyone else like reading stories with farms because of the animals? This one has some naughty chickens, an adorable baby goat, and a few other animals in passing! I loved the scene with Olivia, Tyler and the chickens

What a delightful story! I feel like the books in this series just get better and better. This is book 3 in the series and so far it’s my absolute favorite.

Two words: Tyler. Marino. What a book boyfriend. I absolutely adored him. He was wonderful. He was absolutely perfect for Olivia. I loved how he truly saw her and he challenged her. He asked her tough questions that weren’t out of line, but caused her to truly confront some hard truths and evaluate her thoughts and actions and I think we all need someone in our lives who asks us the tough questions. I thought Tyler was phenomenal and I enjoyed getting to read his story. Reading the first two books I was so unsure of how he was going to end up on a farm, but I think his story is something a lot of people can relate to.

I really enjoyed Olivia’s character also. Olivia had so much on her plate. As the youngest of five kids and the only girl, she felt she had a lot to prove and I feel like that is so normal of younger siblings, especially girls. She had big dreams and huge passions and I loved how much she cared about her family farm and the potential she saw in it. I was also super proud of her for coming to her own realizations about her hopes and dreams. While it did take her a while to have some much needed conversations, I could totally see her reasons for reluctance. The fear of rejection, especially regarding something you are so passionate about, can lead all of us to avoidance. But I was glad she was brave and honest in the end.

This book also made me even more excited to start the How to Kiss a Hawthorne Brother series that follows Olivia’s four older brothers. Jenny Proctor is quickly becoming an auto buy author of mine and I can’t wait to dive into more of her backlist.
