Normally I don't like romcoms but something about this really charmed me. The plot itself is a romcom mainstay (the characters are forced to spend time together for a ridiculous reason) but the characters are designed well enough that it feels like something they would do, and the character growth throughout was great.

I don’t typically pick up romcoms, but I really wanted something light and fluffy and gay. This fit the bill for the most part. There were some serious parts but they worked in the context of the story. I laughed so many times reading this. I listened on audiobook and I loved the different narrators for each POV. It worked really well for the story and I am now obsessed with Molly and Alex’s relationship dynamic. I wish there were a little bit more at the end of the story but overall I’d rate this 5/5 stars.

I just finished it and all I have to say is that I love this book.
Are there flaws? Sure
But am I willing to completely and utterly ignore them? Hell yes
I don't care what anyone says, but this was so cute and fluffy and exactly what I needed right now.

This was such a cute story! It is rather predictable but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. You honestly root for both of the possible love interests for Molly and just love Alex. I wish I had this relationship in my life.

I read this book pretty quickly, which was nice as it didn't drag on for too long. I really liked how the story was told from both perspectives of the two protagonists, and thought it was really sweet how Rachel Lippincott co-wrote with her wife. I liked both protagonists, but preferred Alex.
Even though it made for a good storyline, the amount of the plot which focused on Molly and Cora getting together kind of complicated the "destined" lovestory between Molly and Alex and confused the reader as to what the characters really wanted.
Overall, it was a sweet book, but I felt it didn't have much of a deeper meaning like some of the other books that I've read and it wasn't life changing.

I was so excited to read this book after seeing the lovely cover, and it was everything I had hoped it would be (and more)! Never in my life have I flown through a book so quickly, while wanting to savor every last minute.
She Gets the Girl follows Alex and Molly as they embark on a dating scheme to end all dating schemes. Both of them have their heart set on another girl, but maybe just maybe they’ll find themselves falling for each other in the process (You’ll have to read to find out).
One of the many things I love about this novel is the popular tropes which are intertwined into the plot and then promptly flipped on their heads. For example, fake dating elements are included into Alex’s five step plan, but are not as traditionally executed as in the typical format. This made the story feel so much more fleshed out and real, while still preserving the cheesy and predictable moments I know and love. The charecters are another aspect of the novel which really shine through, and even if I wouldn’t act in the exact same manner, I understood , sympathized, and loved them all the same. This paired with the college campus environment created a unique and special YA romance.
Overall, I would highly highly recommend checking out for your next read (check trigger warnings of course)

this book was so incredibly amazing i loved it so much!!
first of all, the characters were so well developed and i actually related to them both.
i’m the beginning i wasn’t sure about the romance because i really liked the love interests but the story was written so well and it seamlessly fizzled into them having feelings for each other that i was really rooting for them.
another thing i really loved was how all the ends were tied beautifully with their mothers and other people. the sensitive topics were also handled well especially the aversion to celebrating your heritage, i found it to be so powerful.
overall this was such a great queer romance that’s everything i could ever want in a romance! it was really done so well and i love the fact that the two women who wrote this also had a similar love story <3
