Cute little quick read. Something frivolous that I could read without using too much brain power. I liked it a lot.

This is chick-lit at it's absolute best. Chick-lit is never going to be groundbreaking or change the literary world, but this is a well-written book with enough twists and turns to keep you engaged. It's written with an authenticity (because yes, there really are such evil people like Sidra in the corporate world) that had me second guessing all the characters in Claire's life, even her best friend Wendy. This one earned it's 5 stars and a place on my favorites list because I know that what is a shiny new book right now will one day be well-worn from the several times I'll read it, and the many friends whom I'll pass it off to. Oh, and I'm slightly ashamed to say that I perhaps also fell in love with Cole Brannon.

While I enjoyed the book, and connected with the main character, the love intrest seemed way too perfect to be true. I really loved their meeting -I had butterflies all over- and the story development. But for the last part of the book I realised that he had only two main emotions: sadness and happiness. He didn't get angry much -not that I would have wanted him to but I just wanted him to have some spunk- and he was very nice, way too nice. His entrance was great but as the book continued his character lost a little light -at least for me-. That, although, didn't make me like the story any less, because I really loved Claire and Wendy and I hated Sidra with a passion. It's just a thing I realised on the way: he was way too good to be true and he seemed a little unrealistic or their get-together was kinda forced. That's all, besides that, I really enjoyed the book.

Completely, utterly predictable from the beginning until the end.

2. 5 stars.

What's a chick lit story if it's not predictable?

It was the typical boy meets girl, girl doesn't feel confident, totally insecure, why would this drop dead gorgeous guy fall for me, be mean to the guy after he's nice to you and then don't believe anything he tells you but believe what everyone else is saying about him kind of story.

Phew that was long winded.

Anyway, the story was just ok. I feel like if they just would've talked more to each other and not believed what everyone else was saying about each other and what they supposedly did or did not do or whom for that matter.

The ending was predictable and happy, which I liked. All the cruel people got what they deserved and then all the nice people got what they received and then some.

Cute, but not reality. But that was essentially what I was looking for when I wanted to pick up a chick lit. I got what I wanted, but it didn't satisfy my need. I will keep looking.

The last chick lit I read was Emily Giffin's "something borrowed" which I was in love with all the characters, and hated the ones I was supposed to hate. And I fell in love with the guy.

This story, Cole Brannon, I swear if she said his name one more time. After their interview, nothing happened to him. There was no character development nothing. He just fell flat for me. I thought it was going to go into a different direction. And for him to just keep saying I wanted to make sure you were ok, omg say something different! Ugh.

Need to pick up a different chick lit to see if I can better identify with those characters....

Fun and readable, but the main character is one of those annoying romance heroines who makes assumptions about the male lead and what he wants, and what he’s done or hasn’t done, but never bothers to just ASK him. This would have been a 3 star book if not for that. I’m so tired of that trope.

Also I’d have liked a little more romance.

A random grab off of the library shelf. I was actually quite surprised by it. The only thing that was annoying was how often Cole was referred to as Cole Brannon. Especially once he became a solid character in the story. Otherwise it was a good summer read!

I can't believe I liked this book. I mean, it's more than what I actually imagined.

It's fun and light to read. It gives us a glimpse of the lives behind those women magazines and what it is like to be involved with a celebrity; it's ups and mostly downs.

The author did a very good job making me hate, not just Sidra but also Tom. Actually I hated him more than her. His sneaky business and infidelity was insane, but who would have thought that he'd have the guts to ask for money after everything.

I was looking for a chick lit that would keep my mind away from the disappointment I felt from the previous book I've read and I think I did the right thing by reading this book.
