This book was a very innovative attempt to bring together art, philosophy, and neuroscience. It was somewhat successful but lacked evidence and strong persuasion. It read more like a compilation of contemplative thoughts of an inquisitive although versatilely knowledgable philosopher.

There was a point about halfway through where a distinction was made of art's ability to expire, becoming just a picture, comes into play. Which made me skeptical. There was a lot that I agreed with and a lot I didn't. A good read none the less. 3.5*

This is how I described this book in an email to a friend " I can't get into it enough! I think it's bc it's one of those books where the writer is like "ohh I'm so different from an artist, but I will use my scientist mind to merge the two and show how they are similar!" Idk. Just kind of a yawn."

so yeah.
