A lot of aspects of this book are really excellent. The overall world building is super interesting and I love that the LGBTQ characters seem very honestly written and their queerness is both important to them as a person but not the only thing about them. There were some quite spicy scenes but I found that I could just kind of skip hop through those if I was not in the mood for it. My main palm is that I found the Sadie storyline so much more interesting than the call storyline. The calla one kind of redeems itself later on when things come together but it was just so boring for me for most of the story that it was hard to make myself care. I found myself just trying to get through those portions so I could get back to Sadie and Navin. However, in their storyline I was starting to get tired of Sadie whining about things that at that point were pretty clearly water under the bridge
I will probably get the next book when it comes out, but I'm feeling more exhausted by this one at the end then I was after the first one where I just really wanted to get my hands on the next book.
