The last few books I read took me a while (whether I enjoyed them or not), so with The Lies I Tell I picked out the type of story that usually hooks me easily: a thriller with strong, smart and solidary women. And it worked; I definitely got what I wanted out of this book. I especially loved getting to know Meg and watching her friendship form with Kat - even though for the most part I didn't care that much for Kat herself, who seemed to have a hard time not to obsess about the wrong things. A lot goes on in this story and at times it's a bit much, but there was lots to love so I didn't really mind.

4.5

This was a quick and engrossing read. I really enjoyed Meg's character and the vigilante justice she carried out. The pacing was good, there were strong characters/relationships, and a nice touch of social commentary.

Overall, it was a great thriller and I would recommend it!
