the writing is bad and lots of things don’t make any sense. I still somehow enjoyed it

This is my first ever Frieda book and I was very happy with it! I've always loved the idea of thrillers but never really read many. I have to say, I was not expecting that plot twist and how the book ended. Hoping the next one is just as good.

What a truly phenomenal read?!
The suspense of this novel was palpable. At every turn, just when you thought you knew what was going on, you had to grapple with new information that fit seamlessly in with the plot. Each character felt perfectly crafted to make this story ooze off the page. I found myself at every point, unsure of who to root for or against. Just when you think you’ve got all the answers, there are new questions that emerge. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in thriller and suspense. Without any spoilers, this novel is a perfect exercise in making you question everything and believing  nothing is ever as it seems.

I give this 3.5 stars simply because of the fact that I could not put it down and read the entire thing in one day. I would say that this is extremely entertaining and thrilling but not at all deep. It definitely fit the vibe I was looking for, though.

Read about 100 pages and for some reason just didn’t want to keep going, came back a couple weeks later and glad I did. Decent twist, fun story. Wasn’t in love with the book but did end up enjoying it. Millie is annoying.

Fucking Twisted.

★ 10 / 10 ★

Even through the simplicity of language, McFadden is able to convey a twisted tale of
romance, crime & murder.

I initially found myself interested in reading ‘The Housemaid’ by Freida McFadden due to the upcoming movie starring THEE Amanda Seyfried & the spectacular Sydney Sweeney. The story that unfolded before my eyes was the most engaging I have ever come across in my life - deadass.

McFaddens writing technique is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
The foreshadowing, metaphors, gripping cliffhangers, switch in character perspective & the readers opinion.
A story you cannot foretell.

In conclusion, Freida McFadden - you have me hooked! This book is going down in history. Best crime thriller I've ever read.
