I was so interested in the topic of this book and I've liked other books by Krakauer, but I found this hard to get through. There were lots of interesting pieces of information, but I just never felt immersed in the book.
dark informative slow-paced

Not sure if I'm going to finish this...the subject is really interesting, but it is moving pretty slowly and I'm not really getting into it. Not my favorite Krakauer book.

Interesting as a history of Mormonism, but overall pretty dry and I had a hard time getting through all of it.

This book was a wild look into fundamentalist LDS members. I learned a lot about the church of the latter day saints, and marveled at some of the stories.

This book was well-written and exhaustively researched, but I can't say that I enjoyed reading it. The subject matter was disturbing and I was so angry while reading it. The writing deserves four stars, but I couldn't bring myself to say that "I really liked it."

Krakeur is definately my favorite non fiction writer. The informational history of Mormonism is full of conspiracies, robbing, polygamy and more! A very fascinating read.

Fascinating account of the fundamental faction of Mormonism, though I suspect the book weights this too much in the overall view of Mormans.
