Are you a fan of fairy tales? Heroes? And Princesses who find their own inner strength? Also sexy times and lots of tension? Then this is the book you have been looking for.

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and I devoured it in about 6 hours.

The main character (Maeve) is a princess of a kingdom which doesn't allow magic. The reasons for this are explained early on. The princess has magic but she can't use it. Bad things happen and she is taken to safety by 4 dragons. Then the fun begins.

An awesome princess and 4 sexy dragons (did not expect to say that ever but there you go) make up the main 5 and I loved learning about all the dragons. It did feel a little like there was a focus on only two of them, but as this is the first in a series, I hope that there is some serious down and dirty time with the others in future books.

The world these characters inhabit is well thought out and the magic and creatures were, well, cool. I can't say much more without spoilers so I will conclude by saying that I LOVED THIS BOOK and I can't wait until October. New Favourite author methinks.

Great first book in series

I really enjoyed this book. It is the first in a new series and was very well done.

I really enjoyed the world built here. They guys are really well described and a very unique take on shifters.

The ending was left with questions but there was a happy foe now. I am looking forward to the next book.

I liked the characters and the setting was intriguing. Plot was good but the character interaction bugged me as cliché at times. Plot twist was nicely done but the cliffhanger for the next book was unbearably predictable for me to continue reading this series.

I must admit, this was a pleasant surprise! (though tbh, I don't know why since I did read the sample chapter and then bought it :D but you know what I mean!)

World building was good, though at this moment I would say it was the weakest part of the book. We know a tiny bit about Caledonia, we know that the Fae were made to leave centuries ago to neighboring lands, but that's pretty much it, we don't really get a lay of the land.

I liked how Maeve was portrayed. Yes, she is a princess, but she didn't mind getting her hands dirty and actually help out. She had hissy fits, she cried, she laughed and she learned. Though I feel we have only scratched the surface on who she is and I look forward to seeing a tad more depth to her character.
As for the men, what's not to like :D They are diverse enough but still in a tightly knitted group, that even the arrival of someone they all wanted, couldn't break them apart.

Pacing and flow were good, there wasn't a moment in the book (I read it in one go) where I felt bored or overwhelmed. A good balance between action and conversation.

The book itself was well written with only minor errors here and there (nothing that pulled me out of the story). And yes, there is sex described in this book (if that is important to you).

All in all, I liked it very much. The second book is now on my (ever growing) TBR pile so look forward to that.
If you enjoy a slow reverse harem romance, dragons, and magic... this is the book for you!

Good start

Good start to the series. Lots of info. Maeve is an interesting character. So innocent in some things. But can hold her own when it comes down to it.

This is about Princess Maeve who on the night prior to her celebration ends up being whisked away to safety by four Dragons, before she can be touched by darkness.

Without the immediate guidance of her mentor Tabitha, Maeve must now continue her magical training in faraway land and work on breaking the curses laid upon her and her Guardians - Trystan, Septimus, Gwayne and Caliban.

Stone and Fire is a wonderful first book to the Magical Kingdom series, and one I highly recommend.

I absolutely love stories with fae, magic, fairy tale retellings, mythical creatures, reverse harem and more, which is what Marie Robinson has perfectly captured.

The author balances sexy times with a fully fleshed-out (LOL), action packed adventure story. There’s some great sexual tension as well as suspense regarding curses and magical missions. There’s some really cool, scary ghost beasts. And the book seems to *magically* resolve in many ways and present new issues requiring a sequel at the same time.

This is a great start to a reverse harem fantasy series. I loved the rich world-building and lovable characters. Dragon shifters and a daring princess--just the kind of creative twist on classic fairytale tropes I was looking for. I also enjoyed the political intrigue and layered plot. While the romance was wonderful (and smoking hot) it was woven into an intriguing story that wrapped up well, while leaving plenty of room for a sequel. I'm itching to read the next book!
