The book title is definitely misleading and it was clearly a setup for the next book, but it was cute, and this quote was incredible "Squeezing my eyes shut, I thought of guaranteed basic income—and fuck, it didn't help because I am really into GBI."

wonderful, incredible, i loved this

It’s okay that he’ll never love me back. It’s okay that there’s only one bed in this cozy little cabin. We’re best friends. Nothing’s going to happen.

‘Cause nothing ever happens when there’s only one bed.
Very cute novella. Lots of pining, first time fumbling, laughter and love.
A bit too fast-paced, but still sweet.

I think Etienne loves me.
I think I love Etienne.

CW and tropes (spoilers):
- Friends to lovers
- Queer awakening
- Pining
- Only one bed
- Forced proximity
- Strict top/bottom on page

Etienne is unhappy with living away from his best friend Sam while he trains with his ice dancing partner Bree. Sam misses him, and begins to have an inkling he feels he has more than a friend feelings.

When they reunite things ignite, and finally catch up to everyone else knowing they love each other.

Cute story, too short, with less finesse than Andrew’s regular length books.
medium-paced

New to me author. There were unfortunately too many details and telling, not showing, that kept me from fully enjoying this book.

Loved it!
“Kiss and cry” was one of my favourite romance that I read in 2022 so I was happily surprised when I realised this book I just got for free had Henry’s brother as a MC.

It was sweet with the 2 BFF in love (one of my favourite romance trope) and I loved how different it was from Henry/Theo’s story since Henry is so obsessed with ice skating. It was nice to see another side in this novella.

Perfect read for a chill Christmas Eve ^^
