Well written with likeable characters. Enjoyed overall but a bit overlong and predictable

DID NOT FINISH

It just didn’t work for me… I didn’t like either of the characters. Since I struggled through the first book and didn’t finish this one, I’m not going to try for the third.

But a lot of people have enjoyed this book so give it a try!

Gah…so good. You don’t have to read the first book, The Broken Protector, but I would recommend. It will give you more back story.

So we learn in The first book that this town has some secrets and there is one particular evil family that crimes seem to center around. But they are rich and seem to always get away with everything.

Grant, the Captain, is tired of people looking the other way and feels in his gut that this family is the cause of a lot of trouble and crime. Without announcing, he continues to look into them, especially after the newest crime, supposed suicide, happens…again. As far as his personal life, it’s complicated, but the love of his life moved…or ran…ten years ago and he hasn’t seen her since. Until now.

Ophelia, if she never went home to her home town she would be fine with that. Too much drama, too many memories. But here she is, on the way back, as her mom is sick and she needs to visit. Just outside of town, her car breaks down, and when she looks up, it is none other than Captain Grant, the guy she never got over.

So many things cannot be written as it would ruin the story. You just have to read for yourselves. Lots of ups and downs as the mysteries unfold in this small town. Some happy, some not so much. This really was a great read and I hope we get more and discover more about this town.

Wow! I got to tell you. The town of Redhaven is one sick and twisted town. Full of deception, murder and so much more all centered around the town royalty in the big scary house at the top of the hill.

In this second installment of the book the story focuses around Captain Grant Faircross. He has been looking for his best friend for many years. Ethan disappeared the same night that Lucas Graves' sister did. Now with her disappearance solved Grant thinks that it is just a matter of time before they find out what happened to Ethan.

Old memories and pains are hard to hide as Grant runs into a blast from the past. Someone he left on a bad note...Ethan's sister Ophelia. Now back in town to deal with her mother's illness Ophelia is accosted by as madman on her first day and things just get weird after that. With Ophelia's sister acting strange and the strange man stalking her, Grant steps in to lend a hand.

Things change as time goes on and dark secrets of the past come back to haunt the duo. This book is a sick and twisted tale. It has some triggers in it that may not be suitable for you. Kidnapping, violence, drugs etc. I don't want to give away too much so I will leave you with this note. The town of Redhaven has some dark secrets and I cannot wait to see what else awaits us and the town unravels at the scenes.

The Sweetest Obsession is an unputdownable, suspense filled, steamy romance!

Grant is a growly bear of a man with a heart of gold. He's raising his little cousin as his daughter while keeping his town safe as the police captain. I love his obsession with Ophelia. They were friends in the past who both hid their true feelings for one another. When she comes back to town, they tip toe around each other until she's threatened. Grant is super protective of both her and his daughter, Nell. The way they fall in love was so beautiful. I love how they truly see each other and how they just fit. And Nell is hilarious and wise beyond her years.

The suspense and the twists in this story are amazing! You can't help but read it on one sitting because you'll need all the answers! It kept me on my toes!

I wanted to love this one...but I didn't. It's supposed to be a standalone, it didn't feel like one. I constantly felt like I was missing something. Overall, I didn't care for the flow of this book.
