It was fine. I was gonna give it three stars but then I remembered how long it was so I had to take one off. All the clues pointed to Jordan being Mags son which is just gross. Even the MC thought the same. Also is there a shortage of names? Magnus? You’ve gotta be joking. And yk what’s worse? His nickname is Mag. Oh hell naw. To make it worse there’s an actual person on the cover. Excuse me????

This book was fun at first, but at a certain point it really just drags on and on, and I was utterly and completely over it. In the end, I genuinely did not care and wanted to get it done with as soon as possible.
It’s quite a shame though, as the story and characters did have potential to be fun and cute. The author should have just quit while she was ahead and made this novel way shorter. Every little interest and investment I had at first just shattered after being dragged out for so long.
Besides, hardly anything happens that’s noteworthy and nothing gets really fleshed out properly. It’s all so flat and eventually just.. boring.

I don’t know if it deserves a 5 star, that’s just my opinion. I just didn’t like some aspects to it. Maybe some unanswered questions.

Office Grump
An Enemies to Lovers Romance
By: Nicole Snow
Narrated by: Carly Robins, Tor Thom

Office romances, I love them! And this one is especially good. Just when life couldn't get any worse, Brina finds herself spitting out her latte on the shoes of a rude man. Who knew the results would be a job offer she can't refuse? Magnus needs an executive assistant. His demanding ways has made it next to impossible for one to tolerate him long enough to remain on staff. Maybe this spitfire is the answer. And our story begins. Laugh out loud moments, times of frustration, a mother who writes romance and is incredibly funny, a driver you want in your life, and a couple that is perfectly matched all masterfully intertwined to create this wonderful story. Brina is quite the woman. Unable to hold a job to proving her worth, she is smart and loyal. She is feisty and stubborn, and willing to do whatever it takes to keep her and her parents afloat. Magnus is broken. He needs the help, but he also needs someone who understands him, and Brina takes the time. It's a slow burn, but so worth the wait. It's another fun listen by Nicole Snow.

Casting Tor Thom and Carly Robins is ideal. Thom gives Magnus that gruff exterior. You can feel it pouring off of him, and at the same time his nuances left us know there is a softness underneath it all. Robins is so expressive, and her portrayal of Brina is spot on. Excitable, spirited and a huge heart, Brina comes across exactly as I expect her to sound. This team works well together and I loved this performance.
