Yes, we all wish we could wash our bad experiences away and watch them float off to burn up in the sun.
At first, I thought this was a fantasy story about lost loves, but I was a story about how even one who seems perfect have their dramas and pains.
Okay, I was having some trouble getting into this book, but after setting it aside and coming back to it, I renewed my interest in the complex story, though at times I did have a little trouble keeping track of who was who.

10/10. No notes. All the stars. It was a little slow at first, but then it picked up. I loved seeing everyone's different story and how it impacted them and what they chose to do with it. Everyone has a different situation, and everyone has a different story. It's just like real life. Each story moved me in a different way. This book was so thought-provoking and touching to read.

Audible read. Great voice actors.
This was my first book after a major book slump and i was looking for something casual but whimsical. This story had both of those things in spades. It's a really interesting concept on literally washing away your troubles with a lovely cast of cozy characters.
However it does feel quite unfinished. We never get clarity on exactly what happened that night, in terms of what she wished and if she fell out the the world or if everyone she knew did. I would have loved to see her get even a miniscule amount of closure with regard to her parents or more explanation on how the different "worlds" worked and how this new man fits into all of this. I also think that although she has lived all of these lifetimes she is emotionally naive in the way she floats through the world and how she is essentially still that little girl even towards the end.
Hopefully jun & the author will grant my wish for a sequel!

Marigold Mind Laundry by Yun Jung-eun is a beautiful tale that blends magical realism with emotions.
This is a story about Jieun, a woman with special gifts and mysterious powers. She creates a magical laundromat to wash away painful memories of her customers.
The book reflects on the power of healing and the necessity of confronting pain to find solace. The transformation of emotional stains into flower petals serves as a poignant metaphor for letting go and embracing life's challenges with grace.
One of the most beautiful message in the book lays emphasis on the human connection and the idea of "found family". As Jieun starts interacting with her customers- each customer dealing with their own life adversities, from betrayal to unfulfilled dreams: she not only helps them but discovers her own capacity for healing.
The novel underscores the importance of living in the present moment, encouraging readers to cherish everyday joys while acknowledging their pain. The marigold, symbolizing happiness that is certain to come, reinforces the book's hopeful tone, reminding us that healing and fulfillment often stem from shared experiences and resilience.
Marigold Mind Laundry becomes more than a story- it reminds one to embrace hope, face life's trials with courage and nurture meaningful connections with others.
