#readingchallenge2023 (my book that begins with a G)
Quaint story, not much to it- all of the characters were a bit one dimensional & so much of the story was repetitive in a dull way- wish there was more to the dynamics of the relationships presented (i.e the mother/daughters journey after the Dad’s death, the sisters bonding, the gardening club becoming closer) but everything was predictable & too light; like I almost wondered 'when is the 'story' coming'-

This was a cute story with great, funny dialogue; however, it just didn't really go anywhere and the storylines were very predictable.

This book is full of heart. I couldn’t put it down. I love the family relationships, the gardening instructions at the start of each chapter, the humor, and the sense of community. When I first saw the instructions at the start of each chapter, I inwardly groaned and thought I’d skip these parts but I’m glad I didn’t because 1) they are funny; 2) gardening is hard; and 3) I would read a whole book about gardening if this author wrote it. The kids were real and hilarious and I envy Lillian’s relationship with Rachel.

Technically I give it 2.5 stars. I WAS really into it. It talked so well about grief and coming through that. But there was considerably less decorum in this book! Definitely my least favorite by Abbi Waxman.

Absolutely charming, with humor sprinkled throughout.
Moderate: Death, Car accident, and Injury/Injury detail
