Evie and Luc. Luxen, Origin, etc. Kind of too much alien stuff.

“I did like him. He was kind of growing on me. Like mold-if mold was ripped and hard and hot and—“
And this right here is literally my entire mood about this book! It grew on me like mold 😂
All Evie's trying to do is survive senior year, snap some aesthetic pics of her candleholder, and Marie Kondo her sock drawer. Too much to ask?
And Luc? Remember his scrawny butt from the Lux series? OMG, you've just got to dive into his story!
Turns out, I never knew I needed an alien/human, star-crossed, slow burn romance in my life until now!

4.5 stars. I loved reading about Luc...and what happened after the invasion. Evie’s story is crazy but it was everything.....the dramatic irony throughout the whole book was just so good. I enjoyed it immensely.

I read this in about a day, and it was pretty good. It’s full of the typical Jennifer L Armentrout tropes that get me every time. Boys who are deplorable at first but you’re in love with by the end, a good female heroine that is is relatable and interesting, and alien plot twists that you sometimes see coming. I noticed tons of parallels between this book and the first Lux book though, and that was kind of disappointing because I didn’t want to think of this book as having a recycled plot. Otherwise, it was still pretty enjoyable once I got past the first part (which I thought was slow). I’ll still read the second book, because I’ve been reading these alien books for 5 years and I’m still trash for them.
