This was really mid. You could tell this author just wanted to write about the shatter me characters and I really hate it when authors do that. It’s ok you can be original again you’ve done it before.
I did like James he was pretty funny

For some reason she included how whiny and annoying Juliette is even though it’s not her book

I absolutely LOVED this book! James is the best mix of Kenji and Warner. He’s got the goofy, funny side to him but at the flip of a switch, he is lethal and serious. I love how old characters are part of this story too but the main focus remains on James and Rosabelle. It’s so good being back in this world. I need the next book badly!!

I am without a doubt incredibly biased with my rating because this book could have been hell itself and I would have given it 4 stars for just having warner, juliette, kenji, and did I mention warner? I LOVED ALL THE OG CHARACTERS!!! Their interactions are as entertaining as always and Kenji is just so funny.
Now for the actual plot. It was definitely intriguing. I do feel it was slow at times-there was a lot of filler scenes. But I am excited to see what happens next!!
The romance was…really weird. They stare at each other a whole lot. There’s no tension, no banter, no witty retorts. No chemistry WHATSOEVER. They just didn’t have enough substantial interactions to justify James intense obsession with her.
Rosabelle reminds me a lot of Juliette in the first book except she’s even worse. I just wish she had more of a personality
