I spent the first half of this book confused and wondering why it’s considered so great.. and then the pieces started fitting together and the puzzle started creating the most beautiful picture 

The way the novel ends and the realization of who would have had to have written NEE and in what state.. either they knew she was back or they so desperately just wanted her they wrote it to send NEE into the world.. 

I’m sort of spiraling and realizing I need to reread to see if I missed any clues but I’m not ready yet..

The world building was really good, and overall I enjoyed the story. But I was confused for the first 300 pages, really had no idea what was going on. But once I understood the world better I enjoyed it more. I wouldn’t say it’s the best book I’ve ever read, but I thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue the series when the next book comes out!

This book should have been shorter. 3.5 rounded up to 4.

- The first half was so much work building with completely nonsensical terms and creatures and it was so difficult to follow. I truly was confused for so long
- The second half was fast and exciting and I loooooved the dynamic between Raeve and Kaan
- So many mind boggling things revealed that have me VERY excited for the next book
- I just wish the world building was a little easier to follow because I can tell this author has created a wonderfully detailed world
