That cliffhanger though!!!
‘I was hidden, until he found me.’
I definitely don’t read a lot of fantasy and after this read I think I should. I’ve always enjoyed a little wolf story.
Vrohkaria, definitely an interesting place but I feel like we don’t know about half of it so I’m interested to find out more.
I don’t particularly like the Highers’.
Eridian, is definitely somewhere I would visit if I could, I loved how it was described despite the circumstances of it and the people there. I was gutted when the Elites and guards and that invaded it! Darius I could smack up the side of the head for that along with the way he spoke to Rhea.
I feel so sad for Rhea, I feel like she didn’t deserve any of that and I want to know how, who and why put her in that position.
The cliffhanger, well it turned up a gear at the last 25% of the book but I was not prepared for that cliffhanger at all. Desperate to know what happens in book two and will be picking it up immediately!
“I said. Do. It.” I nod at the whip in his hand and shuffle on my knees, trying to get as comfortable as possible. “This should be easy, right? Whipping a traitor. So get on with it.”
That line broke me. It made me realize this series is going to be one of the most emotionally devastating—and absolutely amazing—stories I’ve ever read. Rhea is an incredibly badass FMC. In most shifter fantasies, the female main characters are often cast as damsels, but this story flips the script. It shows that, when given power, women can become some of the strongest and most effective leaders.
A pack full of traumatized people can only thrive under a woman’s leadership, and this book proves it. The relationships between the side characters are beautifully written. Darius—on one hand, I love him, but sometimes it feels like he just doesn’t think things through. His betrayal of Rhea was heartbreaking. Just when everything seemed to be going well, in comes freaking Maize. I have never hated a character as much as I hate Maize.
The whipping scene shattered my heart. I can’t wait to read the next book and see how Rhea rises from the ashes.

kind of good but also not, the story was sooo cliché
and honestly it was really annoying that the fm wouldn't just tell them the story behind them all (miscoumunication sucks) and also it was so obvious and the mm was just stupid (even though he was portrayed as smart) so yeah idk why I read this

** ARC REVIEW **
Well well, what have we here?
a fantasy book with excellent world building.. why yes, yes we do!
but also A GODDAMN CLIFFHANGER!!!!!
ahem.. anyways.
This one was slow for me, so slow that I almost DNF'd but alas I pressed on. I mean come on shifters, magic, an alphahole who you just want to punch in the face. Last but not least Rhea, she is the -chefs kiss- of a FMC of this book.
I have never struggled with a book like this before and to be honest it kind of ticked me off but surely but slowly it got better maybe around Chapter 10ish did I start to rethink pressing on.
While I love the world building, the characters , the enemies to loves bit (which is soo good btw) I simply don't know I can survive waiting for the next book. I need it like yesterday.
I know this is short & vague but there is just SOOO MUCH going on in this book that giving anything away would take away from the experience you would get.
Lastly...
CHECK THE TRIGGERS, PLEASE PLEASE CHECK THEM!
