Weird book about weird and crazy people. If you're looking for a dark story about casual human evil, this is for you. Characters are interesting and diverse, but all but one of them is just awful. Personally I had a hard time getting into this and being invested/following a flow. Kind of reminiscent of game of thrones (the tv show, not the books)

I liked this book less than My Year of Rest of Relaxation only because of some certain, graphic scenes in the book, as well as the most grotesque descriptions of bodily harm, sexual acts, etc; however, Moshfegh's writing is so gripping, descriptive, and blunt that I couldn't put the book down and finished in about 3 days.

This was a fantastically written book; however, a good portion of the content was fairly disturbing. While much of it was integral to the structure of the story and understanding who, exactly, these characters all were, Moshfegh certainly didn’t spare us any details.
