While I wouldn't consider this a "beach read," it did have a bit of a happy ending. There were some significant plot points that were quickly glossed over. It felt like the author was running out of time and had to just everything tied up in a bow before the pages ran out. I also felt Charlotte was inconsistently portrayed. She's fragile, she can outrun two men in her bare feet, she can't be left alone, she's a sex vixen. There needed to be a bit more explanation for her dramatic shifts and maybe even some more self-awareness beyond her wanting to get laid. I enjoyed it well enough but wouldn't recommend it.

Very good book about a dysfunctional family and how they deal with their dysfunction during an all paid vacation in Europe. There is a mother with an adult son and two adult daughters. This is about coming out, bad marriages, dealing with your personal feelings and how it affects you and your family.

Overall this is a very good book and I highly recommend it. (No murder mystery here:))

This was hard for me to get through. The characters are all fairly dysfunctional which should make them endearing but it just made it hard for me to relate to them.

After hearing so much chatter about this book, I expected so much more. The characters, all part of the Perkins Family, were more than dysfunctional, and as a result, all were unlikeable. I’m addition, as a cruise lover, I felt that the author was parodying Cruises in an unnecessarily negative way. I really thought this would be a book I would love, but sadly, I would skip it. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Cute book to pass time while poolside. Has family drama, relationship issues all while traveling. Not a page turner, I enjoyed the cruise experience and cities traveled.

I thought this was going to be a fun beach read because of the cover... boy was I wrong. The story was good, but it needed a lot of help. I don't think there was an adequate resolution to any of the characters. It was hard for me to finish because it was kind of all over the place and I thought there was going to be more forgiveness between the family members, but there wasn't. This book was a let down.

Trigger warning for those sensitive to suicide and miscarriage.

I think I’ll give this a 3.5. It wasn’t amazing or even great but I enjoyed reading it and thought the characters and scenes of the cruise and Europe were fun and entertaining. I wouldn’t say it’s 100% light hearted though with a bit of family drama, divorce, alcoholism, suicide, etc in the mix. It’s a tough book to review but it was a quick read and less dark than my normal which I liked.
