Long Lost by Harlan Coben

I've read and enjoyed many of Coben's books, but I just couldn't get into this one. The story seemed scattered (or perhaps it was my brain). But, everything seemed convoluted. The wit and humor was good, but it just didn't make sense. One moment Bolitar is in a Paris jail (for no apparent reason), the next moment he's in a shootout at a local cafe. Therese goes missing, but suddenly Bolitar finds himself on a jet plane to London with her. The characters all seemed shallow (Bolitar and his island fling with Therese, Win and his Pan Am stewardess Mee). I simply lost interest. But, I haven't given up on Coben yet. Look forward to reading more of his books.

I'm on a Harlan Coben reread in prep for Win, and I thought I'd read the last few books of the MBU (Myron Bolitar universe). I usually wouldn't even consider rereading a thriller cause if you know the twists then what's the point? But I've found that I read these all so long ago when I literally binged all the available ones, that I remember nearly nothing! Ergo I have been proper enjoying them all over again like it's the first time lucky me. I think I may just reread all of them tbh im vibing with it i love Myron and Win (who is espesh good in this one).

This is only the second book by Coben that I've read and both have been great mystery/thrillers. Fantastic characters, lots of action, ripped-from-the-headlines situations and an unexpected twist! Loved it!

"Myron is summoned to Paris at the behest of an old lover, Therese. She is in unspecified trouble and needs his help. When he gets there, he discovers that her ex-husband has been murdered and she is the main suspect. The interesting thing is that more than one blood-type has been discovered at the scene - and the other blood can only be attributed to the dead man's daughter. But she died 10 years before." (From Amazon)

Another brilliant novel in the Myron Bolitar series.

Easy read with a good, if slightly far-fetched plot. Mainly I like the characters in these books.
