3.5 rounded up cos why not
Gonna start off with an unimportant nitpick because it's my Goodreads account and I get to decide what I fixate on - the title's... not a good fit for the story lmao, for a narrative that's equally split with Blomkvist and also (of course I'll eat my words if/when I read the sequels, probably) Lisbeth's dragon tattoo isn't even her most important or visible one. Though admittedly The Girl with the Wasp Tattoo doesn't have the same kick.
The middle of this book was such a fucking slog. The narrative splitting between Blomkvist and Salander was to its detriment because I could not care less for Blomkvist until he was making actual progress on the case (and even then his big breakthrough at the time was, damn), which means every time the camera was back on him I had to groan and bear the next few pages. And honestly, the mystery falling into place felt a little rushed to me? And then when the mystery was solved it was just pages and PAGES of tedious Wennerstrom stuff. But eh. For what it's worth the mystery was compelling, and Lisbeth is a pretty good character.

Some odd and sometimes unappealing character choices overshadowed by the amazing plot and central mystery. Couldn't put it down xd

This is a great book! I would have given it 5 stars except the ending left me disturbed. I'm wondering what the main character is going to do in the 2nd book in the series but based on the ending of this book I'm not sure I want to know. I really liked most of the characters (except for Berger, I didn't really care for her).
